September 15th is the Costa Rican independence day – and the Costa Ricans love to celebrate it! Different schools, groups, and bands from around Jacó dress up and dance, drum, play instruments, and parade down the main street from the municipality building to the central park.

It is an event that I love to watch! I do my best to spot my uniformed youth or any other people I know and cheer them on!
